DMCA & Copyright Policy
How copyright owners can request the removal of infringing content on Kinpost, and how affected users can respond.
Last updated September 4, 2026
1. Kinpost's Copyright Policy
Kinpost respects the intellectual property of others and expects users to do the same. This policy explains how copyright owners (or their authorized agents) can request the removal of allegedly infringing content, and how affected users can respond.
We process takedown requests under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Requests sent to us are treated as statutory DMCA notifications.
2. How to File a Takedown Request
A valid takedown request contains all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- Identification of the Kinpost content you want removed, with enough detail for us to locate it — for example, the username of the poster and the keepsake's title or description
- Your full legal name and contact information (email address)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf
- Your electronic or physical signature
Send your complete notice to kinpostapp@gmail.com with "DMCA" in the subject line, including every element above. Incomplete requests may be rejected, so include everything the elements require.
3. What Happens After You Submit
We review requests promptly. If your request is valid and complete, we remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the affected user. If we need more information to process your request, we will contact you at the email address you provided.
4. Counter-Notification
If your content was removed after a takedown request and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). A counter-notice must include your contact information, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction described in our Terms of Service.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed material in not less than 10 nor more than 14 business days, unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the user from the infringing activity.
5. Repeat Infringers
We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances.
6. Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that content is infringing — or that content was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney's fees. Please consider whether fair use or another exception applies before filing.
7. Questions and Contact
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at kinpostapp@gmail.com with "DMCA" in the subject line. Email reaches us fastest for anything time-sensitive.
